Needle Arts Friends

November 2010 Needle Arts FriendsDo you enjoy knitting, crocheting or sewing? Interested in making new friends that also enjoy sewing, knitting and crocheting? We welcome members and nonmembers to join in on the fun on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month at the Club.

Our friendly group makes and gives away knit, crocheted and sewn garments to local agencies and hospitals. We have the yarn and fabric-we need you and your talents.

 

From November 2009 to November 2010, Needle Arts Friends made and donated 577 beautifully crafted pieces with a retail value of $13,196.

Scholarship Bridge

ScholarshipEver thought how exciting it would be to bid a Grand Slam, have it doubled, redoubled and made?

One way you can try for it is to join a group of us who play bridge at The Nineteenth Century Club.

Not only will you have the opportunity to play bridge, but you will meet some delightful and interesting people that love playing bridge and will be supporting the Founders Scholarship
program.

English Country Dances

An oasis of civility . . . and a ton of fun!

English Country Dance is a delightful social dance with graceful movements set to charming music.The dances will take place in the beautiful ballroom in the historic, landmark Nineteenth Century Club.

Want to come join the fun? Visit our Upcoming Events page; the calendar lists the date for the dance that month, as well as, other interesting and educational events that happen at the Nineteenth Century.

Proceeds benefit the Founders Scholarship Fund of the Nineteenth Century Charitable Association. These college scholarships are awarded to students at Oak Park-River Forest High School and are renewable for four years. So, come help a local student get to college, and have a grand time doing it!
